4th of July in a Small Town, USA

I went to the parade this morning. It is quite a hodge-podge of local businesses and community groups. I didn't take pictures of everything, but thought I'd share a sample with you.

Waiting for the parade to begin. I took a picture looking west since the rest are looking east.
There were several different groups on horses.
The Grand Marshall, because every parade needs one.
This was by far the fanciest tractor in the parade this year. It is representing the local tractor company.
Boy Scout Troop 307. My husband is the adult in the rear on the right.

My son was in the back. You can see him here, last in line on the far side. His head is just to the right of the bear on the sign. I yelled for him but he wouldn't look at me.
Alamosa County is 100 years old today. There were many signs and floats about this. I thought this one was the best of the bunch on that theme.
This group of cheerleaders had great moves and a lot of spirit.
One of our local ice cream trucks. Is there an ice cream truck where you live?
There was a lot more. The parade took about 45 minutes! I'll spare you the rest.

Happy Fourth of July, where ever you live!

What good clean fun! We went to a local community picnic and fireworks last night - what a fabulous time we had - really felt that sense of community. I haven't seen (well, heard) the ice cream truck this year! Not many kids left on our street - everyone's grown up!

Looks very much like the parade we had in our little town!
