Last Finish of 2011

The boy had a friend over yesterday afternoon. They played so nicely together that I was able to finish quilting the Arrowheads block quilt and get the binding sewn to the front. This morning I finished the last bit of hand sewing the binding to the back. So it's done!

No fancy quilting on this one. I just quilted in the ditch between each block then around each "arrow" part in the blocks. It was good practice for me to stitch in the ditch with Hattie. It isn't easy to stay in the ditch when you aren't using a walking foot. I did pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Finished Size: 51.5" by 43"
All fabric used was from stash and even the batting was leftover from a previous project. The little bit of cat fabric I had left from the top has been cut up and added to my stash of 4" by 6" rectangles to be used in a charity quilt. Ahhhh!

It turned out great! Way to go! You answered the question I was going to ask....do you use a walking foot when quilting in the ditch with Hattie. Guess not.

I was out shopping the other day and looked at a sit-down model of the Tin Lizzie. I told my hubby some more about your machine, and we agreed for our space, maybe it's what I should be looking at. I'm going to check it out more when I get home. (I didn't like the Tin Lizzie set up, although I really like the Tin Lizzie on a frame....I did not like the machine on the table.) You can't get stitch regulation on yours, can you? (You can't on the Tin Lizzie sit-down version. I'm guessing that's true on all sit-down versions.)

I really like this quilt, Lynn! I think in-the-ditch was the way to go - there's so much going on you wouldn't have seen any fancy stitching anyway. Happy New Year!
