New Twist on an Old Favorite

I recently learned of a pattern derivation for one of my favorite fast quilt patterns, the Jelly Roll 1600. You insert a 2 1/2" square in between each 2 1/2" strip. I started one at work yesterday and finished it up this morning.

Lime Splash
I only used 8 black and white prints for this one. I wished I had used 15 or 20 different prints. Oh well! It is still striking, I think. Heartstrings and Heirlooms recently purchased an Accuquilt Studio Cutter with the 2 1/2" strip die and some others. If you go over and see the post I did there this morning you can see another quilt I'm working on cut out with our new cutter. I'm really excited about that one!

Spooky came out to help me photograph this quilt this morning.

She is now about 13 weeks old and quite the little hunter. Right now we only let her out in our backyard and only supervised. Inside she mostly catches our feet or her toys, but outside there are lots of little bugs and leaves for her to chase.

I've seen so many of these jelly roll quilts, but not with the square between. I really like it!!

Spooky is so cute. I love this quilt. Great colors. That pop of green is so effective. Great work. Amazing what the addition of a square does to that pattern!

Love your Lime Splash. Now I'm going to have to make one with the squares. Spooky is too cute.
