Inspired by fabric

In my 2012 To Do list along the right hand side of this blog one of the entries is "Utensil fabric inspired art quilt (UFO)." I pulled it out to work on earlier this week. I searched through my blog and I don't believe I've ever shown pictures of this project. I'm not sure why.

Well, here is how it looked as of Tuesday afternoon.

And here it is with the inspiration fabric below it.

I made napkins out of the utensil fabric which we use often. I'm not sure why it inspired me so much. It has a 70s feel to it too. I plan to use the utensil fabric on the back. I have not decided if this piece is finished yet or not. I'm leaning toward "finished" but maybe it needs a little something more or a cousin to hang next to it. For the time being I'm going to just let it hang on my design wall and enjoy it. This one will get some hand stitching. How much hand stitching is yet to be determined.

I was positively at a loss for words, so let me just say ditto to all the above comments. And then some. Love it!
