QAYG

I've decided I'd like to teach a QAYG (Quilt As You Go) class next quarter at my LQS. Another project on my list for this week was to give this method a try. I dug through my orphan block basket and found four blocks to try this out on.

It's not perfect but good enough to give me an idea of how the technique works. So I pulled out the 17 nine patch blocks my mom sent me and made three more.

These are very FLORAL blocks. I like flowers but not really floral fabric. There is only one of these blocks I really like and sadly it isn't even one of the three I made.

Now that I have 20 I'm going to use these to try the technique out "for real". It may even become my class sample.

Notice Miss Boo is still keeping a close watch over me this week! I know she looks like she is sleeping, but don't be fooled. She was very aware of everything I was doing. If I leave the sewing room for very long she comes looking for me.

That looks similar to the method I use. When you match the joining strips to the back fabric it really looks like one piece for the back. I do that whenever I can.

I like what you are doing. This is different from my QAYG with striped fabrics. What a great idea. I'll have to try it.
