Strata Project Progress

Today was Art Group Tuesday! I finished my strata yesterday.

Everybody's strata looked good at this stage. Then we cut them up and sewed them back together. I chose to do a simple nine patch and cut mine up into 5.5" squares. This is the result.

Pretty cool! I liked it before and I like it now. I am thinking about how this needs to be quilted. That will have to wait though until I finish up a few other projects.

Great work. I love the color combo and the way your squares worked out.

Pretty cool is right. I liked it before and when I ready that you cut it up again, I thought, "NO!" But then I saw it after you did that, and I liked it even more! I love the strips of red you added in there. It really gives it some zing!

I tried to comment on your go green post the other day, but blogger wasn't cooperating. I think that's a great idea, but I'm so busy trying to get everything done, I don't think I'll get the bags made this year. I'll have to work on that in the summer or something. I think the worst thing about being a college professor is that the semester is coming to a close at this time of year, students are applying to graduate school and need letters of recommendation, etc. It is SOOOO busy at work that it's always really hard for me to get anything done for the holidays. Christmas break is a welcome respite, but it's a little too late by the time it gets here to make holiday preparations. It has always sort of bummed me out.
