Another FREE quilt along is coming in January

Do you enjoy quilting with others from the comfort of your own sewing room? If so, then please consider joining my Mystery Five-0 private Facebook group. We have another FREE mini mystery coming up in January 2026.

Join the group: Mystery Five-0 Alamosa Quilt Company Private Facebook Group There are three group questions you must answer plus group rules that you must agree to before I will let you into the group - no exceptions. This is the only mechanism I have to try to get spammers, scammers, creeps and bots out of the group.

Below are images of the three free mini mystery projects we've done in 2025.

StarBright March 2025 Free Mini Mystery Project

Starlight May 2025 Free Mini Mystery Project

Starry Night Sept. 2025 Free Mini Mystery Project

Each of the above finish at 21" by 21" and if you join the Facebook group you can still get the clues for all three of them. You can also get the full pattern for each, but those aren't free. What's the difference? The free clues in the group are just that, clues. There are 6 clues for each project. The pattern is written like a true pattern. It's the same information, just presented differently. The clues only give cutting information for each clue, not the project as a whole like in the pattern. The clues for the previous mini mysteries are all in the Files section of the Facebook group.

If you'd like copies of the patterns, the links are below:

There will be three more FREE mini mysteries in 2026. The first one is in mid January. Be sure to join the group now so that you don't miss out!

Fast and Easy Project with Full Video Tutorial

I'm starting to do more videos as those seem more popular than in-person classes in my area. The most recent one I did is how to make a basic cloth napkin. If you have been sewing for a while then this is really beneath your level, but there are lots of folks just starting out with sewing for which this just right.

It's a fairly short instructional video at just over 10 minutes long. That right there tells you how simple this project is.

If the video above doesn't play for you here then you can click the following link which will take you to the video on my YouTube channel: Basic Cloth Napkin Tutorial

You don't need anything fancy for this project - just fabric, an iron and a sewing machine with thread to match/coordinate with the fabric you are using.
