Autumn Art

These gorgeous fabrics arrived earlier this week. I already had the samples made as the shop kit arrived a couple months ago. The collection is called Autumn Art from In the Beginning Fabrics.

Autumn Art Kit projects

The Autumn Art Kit makes all three projects. The kits include the fabrics for the front of all three projects plus the binding for all three projects and the pattern. You'll notice that I opted to leave off the binding on the pillow cover. I have a very limited number of kits so if you want a kit you should order pretty soon.

The panel is absolutely stunning!

Spirited Quilt

This is what I did with the Spirited fabrics and panel.

Spirited Quilt Kit sample

The details: the quilt will finish at 49" by 60". The Spirited Quilt kits are available for $59.99. The kit includes the exact fabrics used in the sample for the quilt top, plus the binding and the pattern. The binding will be Spirited Teal Mottled fabric from the collection.

I have a very limited number of these kits left and not enough fabric to make more. Several folks bought kits before I even had the sample finished! Just based on my crappy drawing and the fabrics.

New Chubby Tubbies

I recently received a fabulous new collection called Random Thoughts. I carry a bag pattern called Chubby Tubbies and I decided that I needed new samples of the Chubby Tubbies using the Random Thoughts fabric.

So here is the first and largest Chubby Tubby I made using the new Random Thoughts fabrics.

Now I just need to make up the other three smaller sizes. These adorable bags stack so nicely inside each other. I'll show that to you later when I get them all made up. I have all the fabrics picked and all the other materials required, I just need to get them made.

Starlets :: A Finish

I finally finished the binding on my Starlets shop sample quilt.

Starlets quilt

Most of the fabrics used are from the 6th Street Cottons collection. The pattern is excellent. I love that she includes a cutting diagram so you know exactly how to cut your fat quarters. The stars are made with the simple stitch and flip technique, so super easy and fast. And the pattern includes several different sizes of finished quilt. I made the smallest size because I can get it done quicker and it is easier to display a smaller quilt in my shop.

Reminder: today is the last day for the Online BlowOut Event. I still have some great deals and fabrics remaining. If you want to check it out click the following link to go directly to the Clearance Section on my website.

Spirited

Sometimes I order fabric and when it comes it is sooo much better than I expected. This is one of those collections. It's called Spirited.

The collection has this gorgeous horse panel.

Spirited panel - a beautiful horse

A coordinating border stripe.

Spirited border print - with horses

And gorgeous coordinates in browns and teals.

You can view the entire collection in my online shop by clicking the following link: Spirited

I have a fairly simple quilt in mind for this collection that will feature the panel and border print, but I don't plan to use the border print as a border. You'll have to wait a bit for that though as I need time to get it made.

Customer Show and Tell

I have two beauties to share with you today.

First from Linda C.

Applique quilt from Linda C.

Linda does beautiful needle-turn hand applique! If you look closely you can tell that she did a lot of hand embroidery accents too. Linda didn't tell me the name of the pattern she used or if she made it up herself.

Next is from a new quilter, Lori C.G.

Basic Landscape class project by Lori CG

Lori is a new customer and a new sewist. A few weeks ago she took a raggy row class at the shop and recently she took our Basic Landscape class. Even a beginner can make a beautiful scene in our basic landscape class!

Cattle Drive :: A Finish

Despite the help from my "quilt tester," Ms. Boo, I was able to get the binding finished on this shop sample. She just loves this quilt for some reason and insisted on sleeping on it in my lap while I finished the binding. I'll have to get the lint roller to this before I hang it up at the shop!

Cattle Drive Shop Sample Quilt Back

It finishes at 54" by 65" - a great lap/throw size. The pattern is Quilters Palette by Villa Rosa Designs. Yep, it's one of their postcard patterns. You could use a panel in the center but if it is "standard" size (24" wide) then you would need to add some borders on the long sides to it to make it large enough for the center section.

If you go back and look at my previous post on this quilt, and you look closely, you'll notice that I did fix the center section. I just couldn't bring myself to make the backing and get it quilted the way it was. I finally realized that the reason for my procrastination was that I didn't like the center section with the alteration we had to do because the center fabric was cut wrong initially. You might also notice that the finished size is different too. In my previous post I used the finished measurements from the pattern. In this post I used the actual finished size from the quilt. I need to let them know that the finished size printed on the pattern is wrong.

I will be kitting this up and listing the kits in my online shop next week. The fabrics are already listed. I used the Sundance collection for this quilt. If you want me to let you know when the kits are available you can leave me comment with your email address or a way to contact you and I will let you know. Or you can email my shop directly at AlamosaQuiltCompany@gmail.com.
